the Election Commission (EC) published the EC’s ruling dismissing the petition regarding the election of senators at the provincial level in Buriram Province. Before the election results were announced, Mr. Buri Radkaew, Mr. Wichian Setsuwan, Mr. Sai Chanitnok, Ms. Benchamat Ummali, Ms. Prinya Dabram, Mr. Thawon Phumithaisong, and Mr. Boonruam Taebthaisong, the 1st to 7th defendants, in which provincial voters, Group 18, the media, were accused of promising assets or other benefits that could be calculated into money to induce others to apply to be senators or withdraw their applications, or induce candidates or voters to vote or not vote for anyone according to Section 77 (1) and Section 81, and knowing that they were not eligible to run for election. Because it is not a person with knowledge, expertise, or work experience in the field applied for for not less than 10 years, according to Section 11 (18) and 74 of the Organic Act on the Acquisition of Senators 2018.
